Maintenance of flower meadows: The right care is essential for keeping flower meadows as biodiverse and colourful as possible. Generally speaking, flower meadows develop to be more biodiverse and colourful in low-nutrient soils than in nutrient-rich locations. For this reason, the addition of nutrients through fertilising or mulching should be avoided. A meadow can only develop biodiversity in the longterm when it is mowed regularly. In doing so, mowing times, like in hay production, should be observed. Meadows with strong growth should be cut in early summer and autumn, whilst mowing in autumn is sufficient for sparser meadows. The cuttings should be collected and removed after mowing. Ideally, it will be allowed to dry out beforehand so that any seeds will stay on the ground. If the area is regularly looked after in this way, a stock of plants should have developed after three years that shapes the appearance of the area for years to come. Pure Wildflower Mix This no-grass mix corresponds to the herb and wildflower composition of the Profi-Line Wildflower Meadow mixture. It is accordingly versatile in application and is also suitable for re-seeding. Art. 4583 per portion Art. 622708 per kg 1–2 g/m2 approx. 60–100 cm Autumn sowing possible! NEW Homeland Flowers This wildflower mix with no grasses comprises only domestic species and is therefore of great value to many pollinating insects. As well as being very useful for insects, the colourful, variety-rich composition is also extremely attractive. The combination of annual and perennial varieties enables long-term utilisation of the meadow. The mixture allows both large meadows and small blossoming islands in home gardens and public green spaces to be created. The species included have all been cultivated and prepared in Germany.
