They are an improvement of the Mendel tulips, which have no market significance today. The category of Triumph tulips contains most of the outdoor and forced varieties, but also some pot varieties and they flower in the field about 10 days before the Darwin hybrid tulips. Triumph tulips have weather-proof, large flowers, sturdy stems, fresh green leaves, they grow to about 35-60 cm high and bloom outdoors starting in early/mid-April.
